It's Time for Back to School Dental Checkups
DID YOU KNOW THAT TOOTH DECAY is the most common chronic disease in children? An estimated 42 percent of children between ages two and 11 get tooth decay in their baby teeth, and it doesn’t stop there, with 59 percent of kids between 12 and 19 getting at least one cavity.
As alarming as these statistics are, childhood tooth decay can be prevented with good oral health habits and regular dental appointments.
Why Schedule A Back-To-School Dental Appointment?
When it comes to the health of your children’s teeth, an ounce of prevention is absolutely worth a pound of cure. If you wait until there’s an obvious problem, it’ll take more extensive (and expensive) treatment to fix. Teeth won’t start to hurt until decay has reached the dental pulp, so bring your children in for an appointment at Beach Dental before it can get that far.
What To Expect At Our Office
At Beach Dental we are all about prevention. Our doctors and hygienists are trained in the lastest technologies to help your family members prevent decay. We use sealants, brushing and flossing lessons and discussions about the lastest in dietary knowledge to help you be healthy and keep your teeth for the rest of your life. We use fluoride varnishs, not gels or foam, to make sure your children do not swallow the fluoride and so they can eat after treatment and not disrupt your families meal schedule. Best of all, varnishs work the best to prevent decay!

What You Can Do For Your Child’s Teeth At Home
What's a great way to help your child care for their teeth at home? Brush your teeth together! It's more fun when we brush together and by watching you it helps kids learn skills they need to make them good at oral health care, like spitting and rinsing. Spitting and rinsing are skills they need in order to use fluoride toothpaste. Also, using battery or electric powered tooth brushes make the job easier for everyone.
